We have taken off the door knobs so that we can take the doors off and paint them in the garage with a sprayer. But until then Brendan has been without a knob. He misses that knob, even though it was actually broken for the last year that we lived here and we had to tape the tongue in so he didn't get locked in when the handle wouldn't turn. Yeah, that happened once. We were trapped in his room, with out a phone. And so we sat. In. His. Room. Watching for SOMEONE to come down the street so they could come and rescue us from the other side that actually worked! It was about 30 minutes until a cute young girl was walking home for dinner and we yelled to have her go over to my Dad and have him come in. (He knows the garage code.) It actually took some serious "NO, REALLY, WE ARE LOCKED IN THIS ROOM. WE ARE NOT KIDDING. REALLY." For her to go get my dad. Do people actually make these things up?? Good times... but I digress...
Brendan has made his own passage in lieu of the knob. You now have to "Type in the code on the phone to get into my room, Mom."
